Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can you schedule an appointment?
Most appointments can be scheduled within 1-2 business days. For maintenance plan members, we offer same-day and next-day priority scheduling. Emergency calls are handled 24/7 — call (941) 345-2464 any time.
What is your service area?
We serve Bradenton, Palmetto, Lakewood Ranch, Ellenton, Parrish, Anna Maria Island, Longboat Key, and the greater Manatee County area. We also serve many 55+ communities throughout the region.
Do you provide free estimates?
Yes. We provide free, no-obligation estimates for all plumbing work. We'll come to your home, diagnose the issue, explain your options in plain language, and give you a clear written price before any work begins. No surprise charges, no hidden fees.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, personal checks, and all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover). Payment is due upon completion of work. For larger projects like whole-house repiping or bathroom remodeling, we can discuss payment arrangements.
What should I do in a plumbing emergency before you arrive?
Shut off the water at the nearest valve or the main shutoff (usually near the front of your house where the water line enters from the street). If you smell gas, leave the house immediately and call 911. Then call us at (941) 345-2464. Keep away from standing water near electrical outlets, and take photos of any damage for insurance purposes. Our emergency plumbing page has more detailed steps.
Do you work in gated communities?
Yes. We regularly service gated and 55+ communities throughout Manatee County. We're familiar with gate access procedures, HOA requirements, and the common plumbing systems in communities like Del Webb, Heritage Harbour, Cresswind, and Tara Golf.
How long will the repair take?
Most common repairs — faucet repair, toilet repair, garbage disposal replacement — take under an hour. Drain cleaning is typically 30-90 minutes. Water heater replacement takes 2-4 hours. Larger projects like repiping take 1-3 days. We'll give you a time estimate before we start.
Is there a service call fee?
Our service call fee is $75-$150, which covers the trip to your home and diagnosis. If you proceed with the repair, the service call fee is applied toward the total cost — so you're only paying for the work itself. We always provide a complete estimate before starting any work.
Do you offer senior discounts?
Our annual maintenance plan ($149/year) gives members 10% off all repairs, priority scheduling, and no after-hours emergency fees. This is our most popular offering in Bradenton's 55+ communities and provides the best ongoing value for homeowners on fixed incomes.
Can I email you instead of calling?
Absolutely. Email us at service@roscoplumbing.com or use the contact form on this page. We respond within one business hour during normal hours (Mon–Fri: 7 AM – 6 PM). For emergencies, always call (941) 345-2464 — a real person answers 24/7.
What's Rosco Plumbing's guarantee?
We stand behind our work with a satisfaction guarantee. If a repair we performed fails within the warranty period, we'll come back and fix it at no additional charge. Parts carry the manufacturer's warranty. For PEX repiping, the pipe itself carries a 25-year warranty.
Do you clean up after the work?
Yes. Our plumbers wear shoe covers, lay down drop cloths when working inside, and clean up completely before they leave. You shouldn't have to clean up after the plumber — that's part of the service. We treat your home like it's our own.
Can you install a fixture I already bought?
Yes. Whether it's a faucet, toilet, garbage disposal, or other fixture you've purchased yourself, we're happy to install it. We'll verify compatibility with your existing plumbing before starting. If you'd rather have us supply the fixture, we carry quality brands at fair prices.
Do you handle permits and inspections?
For work that requires permits — such as bathroom remodeling, repiping, and water heater installation — we pull the permits and schedule the inspections. You don't have to deal with the city at all. Everything we do meets or exceeds Florida plumbing codes.
What if I'm not home during the repair?
We can coordinate with a trusted neighbor, family member, or in gated communities, with the management office. For maintenance plan visits, many of our seasonal residents leave a key with a neighbor and we coordinate the visit. We'll always provide before-and-after documentation.
Do you work on weekends?
Regular appointments are available Mon–Fri: 7 AM – 6 PM and Sat: 8 AM – 2 PM. Emergency service is available 24/7, including Sundays and holidays. There is a modest after-hours fee for non-emergency weekend calls.
How do I know if my issue is an emergency?
If water is actively flooding, a pipe has burst, you have a sewer backup, you smell gas, or you have no water at all — it's an emergency. Call us immediately at (941) 345-2464. If it's a drip, a slow drain, or a running toilet, those can usually wait for a regular appointment. When in doubt, call us and we'll help you decide. Visit our FAQ page for more guidance.
Do you have reviews or references?
We've been serving Bradenton since 1983 and our best marketing has always been word of mouth. We're happy to provide references from homeowners in your specific neighborhood or community. After 40+ years, our reputation speaks for itself. Learn more about our story.
What's your cancellation policy?
We understand plans change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, just call us as early as possible — same day is fine, we won't charge you. We only ask that you let us know so we can offer the slot to another homeowner who needs help.
Can I get a callback instead of waiting on hold?
You shouldn't have to wait on hold — a real person answers our phone at (941) 345-2464. If we're on another call, leave a message and we'll call you back within 15 minutes during business hours. You can also submit a request through our contact form on this page.
